Brian Hamilton, AMFT
Brian Hamilton is an Associate Marriage Family Therapist who enjoys working with kids and teens, as well as individuals struggling with intimate partner violence, addiction recovery, and CPS Reunification. He is trained in the use of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, a model designed to help children struggling with trauma and/or separation from their primary caregivers. He is also trained in the use of the Comprehensive Resource Model, a treatment modality similar to EMDR that provides clients with a comprehensive set of skills for managing trauma-related symptoms. For addiction recovery, Brian uses Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention to help clients identify triggers and overcome cravings.
Brian is the host of the YouTube channel, Initiative Play Therapy, which provides advice to therapists on how to use games and pop culture characters as interventions in play therapy. He has a chapter included in the book, The Psychology of Pokémon, published by Geek Therapeutics.
